Objective of the Planned Family Scheme

The objective of the Planned Family scheme is manifold. It includes :

1. To keep the population of A & N islands under control by encouraging the adoption of small family norm
2. To improve the literacy status of the girls
3. To discourage early marriage among girls
4. To provide social security for women of the UT in old age.
5. To do all other things which are incidental to the above objects.
