Nominations invited for Tanzing Norgay National

Adventure Awards

 

        In order to give due recognition to the achievements made by the persons in the field of adventure, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GoI had instituted National Adventure Award entitled "Tanzing Norgay National Adventure Awards". The Award will consist of:

 

(a) A bronze statuette

(b) A Certificate

(c) A blazer with a silken tie/a saree

(d) A cash award of Rs 5,00,000/- or the same amount as for Arjuna Award conferred in the field of Sports by the Ministry of Youth Affairs &

Sports.

 

        As per the scheme ordinarily not more than one award each is conferred for adventure activities on land, sea and air.

 

        The last-date of submitting nominations to GoI, Ministry of YAS is 15.05.2012. The detail information in this regard can be collected from Netaji Stadium, Port Blair during office hours.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Power disruption

 

        Power supply will remain suspended in some of the areas on 04.05.2012 from 0700 hours to 1400 hours for commissioning activities in the already laid 11 KV underground cable at Haddo area by M/s. PGCIL.

 

        The areas to be affected by power suspension are Haddo, Haddo Wharf, Coast Guard Enclave, Buniyadabad, IOC, AIR, part of Prem Nagar, part of Junglighat (near School area) & Middle Point.
