        On the joyous occasion of ‘Holi’, I extend my warm greetings to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

 

        Holi, the festival of colours, is symbolic of the triumph of good over evil. It is also a time for rejoicing and represents one of the most colourful events in the cultural fabric of our country.

 

        May the colours and gaiety of Holi brighten our lives and bring happiness and prosperity to one and all.

LG to visit Diglipur from March 7 to 8

 

            Hon’ble Lt Governor Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd) will be on a visit to Diglipur from 7^th to 8^th March 2015. The programme in Diglipur includes review meeting and proposal for improvement of tourism sector besides visit to Ross & Smith Islands.

 

            On completion of visit, the Lt Governor will return to Port Blair in the afternoon on March 08, 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Function on 10^th March at Chatham Memorial

 

        A solemn function will be organised on 10^th March 2015 at 9 am at the Chatham Memorial to commemorate the arrival of first batch of Freedom Fighters of First War of Independence in these islands in the year 1858. Chief Secretary, A&N Administration will pay tribute to the heroes of First War of Independence by placing wreath at the Chatham Memorial followed by floral tributes by others.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Council seals more unauthorised building

 

          Port Blair, March 5: The Port Blair Municipal Council has sealed another building being constructed on a plot situated at Prem Nagar, Ward No. 04 in gross violation of the Municipal Building Bye-laws 1999. The sealing of the second floor of the building was done by PBMC after following due process against the building.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No S&L show at Ross Island on March 7

 

        The Sound and Light shows at Ross Island shall remain suspended on 07.03.2015 due to technical maintenance work.
