Heavy rain disrupts normal life

 

        Heavy downpour which started today at 04:00 AM disrupted the routine of general public due to water-logging in some of the areas at Prothrapur, Vivekananda Colony, Austinabad junction and in some of the areas of Ograbraj.

 

        The State Control Room alerted the Emergency Operation Centre at District of South Andaman, Police Fire Services and Revenue Officials for action. The Police Fire Services stationed at Garacharma rushed to the spot at Prothrapur. The Revenue officials also been stationed on the spot as a helping hand to the residents of Prothrapur, Austinabad and Ograbraj areas.

 

        The State Control Room monitored the situation with the assistance of Control Rooms of Police, Fire, Port Blair Municipal Council and disseminated the course of actions that had been taken by the Emergency Support staff deployed in ground. No untoward incidents have so far been reported due to heavy rain.
