LG directs high level teams to visit various places

in the Islands to sort out people’s problems

 

        Port Blair, September 15: Hon’ble Lt Governor has issued directions to the Secretary level officers to visit various places in the Islands immediately with a view to resolve people’s problems and grievances in consultation with the PRIs and District Administration. Accordingly, three separate high level teams headed by senior level officers, along with officers of the concerned Departments will visit different places in the Islands on Tuesday (16.09.2014). These teams will carry out local inspections, interact with the PRI as well as the general public and will take necessary decisions to resolve people’s problems. 

 

        The first team headed by the Principal Secretary, Smt Rina Ray will visit Neil Island on 16th September 2014, along with senior officers of the concerned Departments, while a second team, headed by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Smt Punya Srivastava will visit Baratang and Rangat on the same day to look into the problems being faced by the people there. A third team led by the Secretary (Tourism), Shri Rakesh Bali will visit Hut Bay. 

 

        The visit of senior officers of the Administration is expected to mitigate the long pending problems of the people of these remote places in the Islands.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

LG condole death of Govt. employees

 

Port Blair, September 15: Hon’ble Lt Governor has expressed his deep shock on the sudden and untimely passing away of Shri Dominic Watson, aged 44 yrs, ASI (Communication), A&N Police at Chowra Island and Shri Arshad, aged 42 yrs, an employee of Electricity Department, who suffered a cardiac arrest at Port Blair. The Lt Governor has also expressed his condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
