     LG sanctions relief

 

          The Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM has sanctioned fifty thousand rupees as ex-gratia relief from LG's Relief Fund to Shri P. Aboobaker, S/0 Late P. Marakar, R/o Mannarghat for his treatment as he is suffering from Coronary Artery Disease and is under medical treatment in mainland.

 

        Considering the poor financial condition of Shri P. Aboobaker and based on the report of Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) and Director (Health Services), the Lt. Governor has sanctioned the relief amount.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Solemn function at Battle of Aberdeen Memorial

 

        A solemn function will be organized at the 'Memorial of Battle of Aberdeen', Water Sports Complex on 17th May 2013 at 9 am to pay tribute to those Great Andamanese who lost their lives during the “Battle of Aberdeen" fought in the year 1859.

 

        Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands will pay tribute to the heroes of Battle of Aberdeen by laying wreath at the Memorial.

 

        In this regard, all are requested to join in paying tribute to these heroes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New DGP takes over

 

        Shri Sudhir Singh Yadav, IPS has joined the Andaman and Nicobar Administration on May 15th 2013 and has taken over the charge of Director General of Police, A&N Islands. He is 1985 batch IPS officer of AGMU Cadre.

 

        After his Master of Science in Geography followed by degree in Journalism and Mass Communication he joined Indian Police Service in the year 1985. Prior to his posting, to these Islands as DGP, he has also served in A & N Islands as DIG (Law & Order) from 9th October 2000 to 6th October 2003. He has vast experience in Law Enforcement, Investigation of Crime, Intelligence gathering & Surveillance and Management of resources (Men & Material).

 

        He has served in Delhi Police as DCP on various important assignments including DCP (Provisioning & Logistics), DCP (North District) & (South District), Anti Corruption, Special Branch etc. He has also served as Additional Commissioner of Police (PM Security), Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime against Women) & Joint Commissioner (Northern Range) in Delhi Police. Before joining in A&N Police as DGP, he was working as Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) & (Vigilance) and Nodal Officer for Crime against Women and children in Delhi. In recognition of his services he was conferred with President Police Medal for Meritorious Service while he was posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

Master Plan for Port Blair Planning Area

 

        Master Plan for Port Blair Planning Area (PBPA) which consists of Port Blair town and 34 revenue villages has come into operation w.e.f 1st March, 2012. This was prepared under the provisions of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Town & Country Planning Regulation, 1994. As per Sub-Section 2 & 3 of Section-11 of the Regulation, it is also essential for the departments of Administration and the Govt. of India Offices to obtain necessary Planning Permission and Approval of Building Plan from the Appropriate Authority viz. Port Blair Municipal Council, Gram Panchayats, Port Blair Planning & Development Authority before taking up any development in the Planning Area and such development shall be in accordance with the Master Plan for PBPA. This Press release is a reminder and cannot be construed to come into effect from the date of its publication in the newspaper, as the Master Plan for PBPA is in force since 1st March, 2012. The co-operation of general public as well as departments of Administration and Govt. of Offices are solicited to avoid invoking penal provisions contained in the regulation to regulate the developments.
