Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll

of A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency

 

        The Election Commission of India issued schedule for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll of A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency. As per the schedule, the Draft Electoral roll shall publish on 15th October 2014 (Wednesday) and the period for filling claims and objections is up to 10th November 2014 (Monday). The final Electoral roll shall be published on 05.01.2015 (Monday) with the qualifying dates as on 01.01.2015.

 

        The draft Electoral roll shall be published in all the Polling Stations of the A & N Islands and the forms shall be made available to the general public with the Designated Officers appointed for each Polling Station by the AEROs (Tehsildars/ACs).

 

        Special Campaign with Booth level Agencies of Political Parties for filling claims and objections is fixed on 19th October 2014 (Sunday) and 02nd November 2014 (Sunday). The claims and objections shall be disposed by 20th November 2014 (Thursday) by AEROs.

 

        All the political parties and general public are requested to inspect the Electoral roll till date are hereby requested to file their claims for inclusion in their respective Polling Station.

 

            The eligible voters who have attained the age of 18 and above, and are not enrolled in the Electoral roll till date are hereby requested to file their claims for inclusion in their respective Polling Station.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Police FIB rescues fishing trawler

 

        On 16/10/2014 at 0820 hrs information was received that one fishing trawler namely JEHOVAH SAMMAH, ANB/SA/RKVY NO. 1 alongwith six fishermen are under distress due to engine gear-box failure and are drifting ashore towards rocky area and sought immediate help for rescuing them.  Police Fast Interceptor Boat M.V. Zulfiquar Ali stationed at Chatham was directed to sail out immediately for conducting rescue operations by Dy.SP (PMF).  Inspite of prevailing strong North-East wind and turbulent sea conditions, the Police Boat sailed out with marine Police and the fishing trawler and 06 fishermen were rescued. The fishing trawler was towed safely to Junglighat jetty. 

 

        The general public and fishermen are cautioned and advised not to venture in sea during rough/cyclonic weather conditions and to carry sufficient safety gears to prevent any untoward incidents.

 

        Fishermen are requested to pass on any credible information about poaching activities and details of boats/fishing dinghies under distress directly to Coastal Security toll free helpline number 1093 for rendering round the clock assistance by Police Marine Force, A & N Islands.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Power suspension

 

        It is brought to the notice of the general public/consumers and Government Departments that power supply will remain suspended in some of the areas on 18.10.2014 from 0700 hours to 1400 hours for renovation of six pole structure at Ograbraj and cutting of two dangerous trees by APWD at Manglutan Junction, ABC cable testing at Shoal Bay and to carry out other maintenance works like that of HT/LT line by every site offices under Chouldari sub-division and Ferrargunj sub-division. The areas to be affected by power disruption are Teylerabad, Bimblitan, Sipighat, Guptapara, Manglutan, Wandoor, Dhanikhari to Ograbraj via Chouldari, Ograbraj to Dandus Point, Tusnabad to Tirur and Wimberlygunj to Shoal Bay.

 

        Power supply will also remain disrupted in some more areas on 18.10.2014 from 0800 hours to 1300 hours for urgent maintenance on T&D System.

       

        The areas to be affected by power suspension are part of Prothrapur, part of Garacharma, Pathergudda, New Pahargaon, and Bhatu Basti.
