LG, others pay tributes to Great Andamanese

 

 

        The Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM today led the islanders in paying rich tributes to all those Great Andamanese killed during the Battle of Aberdeen fought on 17th May, 1859. At a solemn function held at the Battle of Aberdeen Memorial, Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex here this morning, the Lt Governor laid wreath at the memorial followed by paying of floral tributes by the Chief Secretary, Shri Anand Prakash, Chairperson, PBMC, Smt Firdosh Bibi, senior officers of the Administration, public representatives and prominent citizens of the town. A two minutes silence was also observed to mark the occasion.
