Lt Gen (Retd) A K Singh sworn-in as LG of Puducherry

 

        Puducherry, July 17: The Government of India has designated Lt Gen (Retd) Ajay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, the Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to hold the charge of Lt Governor of Puducherry.

 

        Lt Gen (Retd) Ajay Kumar Singh, has been sworn-in as Lt Governor of Puducherry on Thursday in a function held at Raj Niwas, Pondicherry. The Chief Justice of Madras High Court administered the oath of office.

 

        Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble Speaker, Hon’ble Ministers, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, Members of Parliament, M.L.A.s, Chairmen of Corporations/Boards and the Chief Secretary,   Secretaries to Government and Officers of the Government of Puducherry attended the Swearing-in-Ceremony.

 

        Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Lt Governor said that he is honoured and humbled to be here in Puducherry. LG sanctions Rs 1 lakh relief to crocodile attack victim

 

    Port Blair, July 17: Hon’ble Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A. K. Singh, has sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 lakh as relief to the next-of-kin of Shri Khagen Mistry, who was killed in a crocodile attack.  The unfortunate incident occurred when Shri Khagen Mistry, 59 years, a resident of RK Pur, Hut Bay, went fishing at R K Pur Dam in the evening of 7th July 2014 and was attacked by a crocodile.
