Shri Rajesh Malik, IPS takes over as

Director General of Police, A&N Islands

 

         Shri Rajesh Malik, IPS born on 10th November, 1959 is a Master of Science in Botany. He joined Indian Police Service in the year 1986 and was allotted AGMUT Cadre. He has held various important assignments of ACP Shahdara Delhi from 1988 to 1990, SP Chandigarh from 1990 to 1992, DCP 5th Bn, DAP, Delhi Police from 1992 to 1995, DCP (PM) Security Delhi from 1995 to 1997, SP & DIG Arunachal Pradesh from 2000 to 2002 & Additional Commissioner of Police (Anti-corruption and Special Branch) from 2002-2006. He also served on Central Deputation in SPG as DIG and IGP from 2006 to 2014. He has been conferred with the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in the year 2003 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2011. Prior to joining Andaman & Nicobar Islands he served as Special Commissioner of Police (Provisioning & Logistics), Delhi Police.

 

         On 17th August, 2015 he assumed the charge of the Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Police.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PRESS RELEASE

With the announcement of Panchayat & Municipal Elections -2015 in A& N Islands on September 20th and in order to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections and to take Preventive measures in pursuance of the Election instructions, all the licence holders of Arms and Ammunition under South Andaman District are hereby required to deposit their licensed arms with the nearest Police Station by 19/8/2015 positively.

The Police authorities shall issue proper receipt of the deposition of Arms and Ammunition. The Arms and Ammunition will be returned to the licenced holders after one week of the declaration of the results of the Election.

All the Arms licence holders are directed to comply with this order.

The Arms licence held by Forest Department and Bank Security Personnel are  exempted from the above order.
