High level team to visit Diglipur, Campbell Bay

to resolve people’s problems

 

          Port Blair, August 19: Hon’ble Lt. Governor has directed to depute two separate teams of senior officers of A&N Administration to Diglipur in North Andaman and to Campbell Bay in Southern group immediately with a view to interact with the PRIs as well as the public of both the areas in order to resolve their grievances. This move has been initiated on the direction of Hon’ble Lt. Governor, following receipt of public grievances from the people of these areas.

 

        Accordingly, the first team headed by Secretary (Transport) accompanied by Senior Officers of Health and Forests Departments will visit Diglipur and hold meeting on 25th and 26th August, 2014 and resolve the issues in consultation with PRIs and will submit a feedback to Hon’ble Lt. Governor on August 28, 2014.

 

        Similarly, a team led by Secretary (Rural Development) has been directed to visit Campbell Bay from 26-28 August to look into the problems being faced by people there. The team will also carry out local inspections, meet PRIs and take necessary on the spot decisions and submit a report to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor by 30th August, 2014. The other members of the team includes Secretary (Education), Chief Engineer (APWD) and Director (Health Services).

 

        The problems and issues required to be attended to in both the areas are mainly related to transport, health care, revenue, rural development, public works apart from certain other grievances of the people which require immediate redressal. It is expected that the visit of Senior officers of the Admn. will surely help to mitigate the long pending problems of the people of these remotely placed areas in the islands.
