Message

I am glad to know that "International Biological Diversity Day" is being celebrated with the theme - "Water & Biodiversity" on 22nd May 2013 to create awareness about conservation of water and rich biodiversity of the Islands.

The life on planet earth depends on water. We all derive food, medicine, energy and many industrial products from the biological resources. Biodiversity plays an important role for maintenance of ecological balance.

Therefore, on this occasion, I appeal to the people of these Islands to take all possible steps for conservation and maintenance of water resources as well as biodiversity.
