Minister Urges people to support govt for speedy development

 

          Diglipur, May 26: The Union Minister of State for Urban Development Shri Babul Supriyo today called upon people of these islands to lend their active support and cooperation to the government at the center so as to hasten the pace of development. Addressing a public meeting organized by the state BJP, to mark the completion of one year in office by the NDA Govt, at Diglipur Bazaar, the Minister recounted the multifaceted achievements of the Govt during the last one year, which, he said, have been possible due to a number of welfare oriented and innovative schemes enunciated by Narendra Modi Govt. Shri Babul Supriyo minced no words in flaying the previous govt which, he said, had virtually hoodwinked the people at large at every stage of life by making false promises. According to him after a long spell of darkness in the form of non-development during the previous regime, it is Modi Govt which has rekindled a ray of hope and aspiration among the people. “Narendra Modiji actually instilled a sense of confidence among the people to dream about their future and efforts have been mounted by the Govt so that the fruits of development actually reach the people at the earliest”, he said.

 

        The Minister, during his address, also touched upon some flagship programmes of the govt like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Jeevan  Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana etc which he described as immensely beneficial and urged the people to avail them to reap greater benefits. Shri Babul Supriyo also mentioned about some landmark projects for Island development, notable among them being, construction of two major bridges on Andaman trunk road, improvement of National Highway No-4 on ATR etc. He also urged the people not to be misled by the canards spread by some people with divisive minds who attempt to dissuade people towards non development.

 

        The Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray and State BJP President Shri Vishal Jolly also addressed the meeting, among others. While the function was attended among others by the Party General Secretary Shri Deepak Jha, Shri Ajoy Bairagi, Shri Tarang Dhali. Apart from being a politician, Babul Supriyo, popular singer also presented some delightful songs to the loud applause and cheers from the large gathering.

 

        Earlier on arrival at Helipad here, the Minister of State was received, among others, by the Deputy Commissioner, N &M Shri Krishna Mohan Uppu and the Assistant Commissioner Diglipur Shri Arava Gopi Krishna besides a host of other officers and BJP Leaders.

AMIE summer examinations

 

        The AMIE summer 2015 examinations will be held from 06.06.2015 to 15.06.2015 at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Pahargaon. The candidates who have applied for the AMIE summer 2015 examinations may download their admit cards from IEI HQs website (www.ieindia.org under the tab academics) by entering his/her correct membership number. SMS was already sent by the HQs of IEI to all registered candidates, whose mobile numbers are available on record, at least 10 days before the commencement of examination. It may be noted that concerned State/Local Centre may not consider such request, if this facility is requested during the period of examination. The programme of examination is displayed in the notice board of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Pahargaon.

        The Delimitation of 24 wards of PBMC has already been finalized and notified by the Election Commission vide Gazette bearing No.62 dated 23/4/15.

 

        As the General Election to PBMC are due in September 2015, the Election Commission issued Schedule to revise and prepare the Electoral roll of PBMC based on latest electoral rolls of A&N Islands house of the people constituency prepared under the Representation of People Act, 1960 and the rules made thereunder. The Schedule is as under:-
