State Mourning

 

         The Govt. of India announces with profound sorrow the death of Shri A.P.J. Abdul Kalam former President of India at Bethany hospital Shillong at 1945 hours on 27.07.2015. As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary seven days State Mourning will be observed throughout India from July 27, 2015 to August 2, 2015, both days inclusive. During the period of state mourning the National Flag will fly at half mast on all buildings throughout India where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment.

 

 

 

 

Funds released towards school stationary kits

 

         Education Department has released the pending fund of Rs. 305000/- towards school stationary kit for the year 2013-14 for South Point School. The fund has been provided to the concerned DDO, Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School for crediting to the account of beneficiary students.

 

         The parents of the students studying in the South Point School had earlier approached the Chairperson, A & N UT Commission for protection of child rights with the complaint that the amount towards the cost for purchase of stationary items and stitching charges of uniforms for the year 2013-14 for some of the eligible beneficiary students has not been credited to their accounts even after the lapse of two years. The matter was immediately taken up by the Chairperson, UTCPCR with the concerned DDO and it was learnt that the fund for the year 2013-14 was not received from Education Department and hence the payment could not be done. The matter was then taken up by the Commission with the Secretary (Education), A & N Administration vide letter dated 14.07.2015 and finally the pending amount of Rs. 305000/- was released and transferred by Education Department to the DDO on 17.07.2015 for onward payment to the beneficiaries.

 

         Appreciating the immediate intervention of Secretary (Education), the Commission has requested the Secretary (Education) and Director (Education) to ensure the timely release of fund for school stationary kit to different schools to facilitate the needy and eligible students to continue their education without any hindrance.

 

 

 

 

Cultural Associations invited for Monsoon Festival

 

     The Department of Art and Culture will organise cultural programmes during the ensuing Monsoon Festival scheduled to be held from 7^th—9^th August 2015 at ITF Ground. In this regard a meeting has been convened in the office of the Director of Art & Culture, Cellular Jail Complex on 31^st July, 2015 at 4 pm to finalise the programmes. Interested registered cultural organisations having theme based programmes or folk, classical and semi classical presentations are requested to attend the meeting.

 

 

 

 

Super specialists to render service at GBPH

 

         Super Specialists of Medica Super Specialty Hospital, Kolkata will be rendering their services in G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair from 17^th August to 21^st August, 2015. They will examine patients in Room No. 6 & 17 at OPD in the following disciplines:-

 

 

         For screening of cases for super specialist treatment, the general public is requested to consult Dr. S.S. Singh and Dr. Omkar Singh, Medical Specialists for Pead. Cardiology, Neurology & AV Fistula cases and Dr. Saji Varghese and Dr. Sukumar Saha, Surgical Specialists for Plastic Surgery cases in their respective OPDs at G.B. Pant hospital, Port Blair.

 

 

 

 

DBRAIT selected list of candidates

 

         Provisional 4^th selected list of candidates for Degree and Diploma courses for admission in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for the session 2015-16 will be displayed in the institute’s notice board near Cooperative Society on 29^th July, 2015. Skill test for Lab Technician (Civil)

 

         The written exam and skill test for the post of Lab Technician (Civil) in the establishment of DBRAIT which was scheduled to be held on 29.07.2015 (Written), 31.07.2015 & 01.08.2015 (Skill Test) is postponed due to administrative reason. The next date for the said exam/test will be on 13.08.2015 (Written) and 14.08.2015 & 17.08.2015 (Skill Test). The exam for Lab Technician (Computer) shall be held as per schedule communicated earlier i.e. (Written exam) 29.07.2015 and (Skill Test) 31.07.2015 & 01.08.2015.
