No Public Hearing at Raj Niwas

        

         Port Blair, June 29: There will be no Public Hearing by the Lt Governor at Raj Niwas on 30.06.2015.

         The Hon’ble Lt Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands while discussing the matter of payment of salary and wages to the employees of the Forest Corporation on 24.06.2015 also instructed the PCCF (ANI) and the CCF (R&WP) to pursue and get expedited the permission for the allotment of sea sand in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands by the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) while on their visit to the Ministry. Accordingly, the officers met with the concerned officer in the Ministry on 26.06.2015 and requested to expedite the matter who informed that he is proceeding to Chennai and shall take up the matter with Institute of Ocean Management (IOM), Chennai for early submission of their report on accretion of the sea sand in order to finalize the matter. It was also informed to him that the officers from the IOM, Chennai and NCSCM, Chennai who were on the visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands recently, have been explained by the Department of Environment & Forests, A&N Islands in detail the difficulties being faced by the people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in this regard.
