LG condoles death of Forester

 

        Port Blair, July 29: The Lt. Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A K Singh, has condoled the tragic death of Shri Kalidas, aged 40 yrs, a Forester of the Department of Environment & Forest, posted at Mayabunder. The Forester died when he along with a team of Forest officials, had gone into the jungle to trap a rogue elephant that was on rampage, for the last few days. The rogue elephant had attacked a private bus at Mohanpur-5 area, Mayabunder a couple of days back and passengers had a narrow escape.

 

        The Lt Governor has expressed his deep condolence to the members of the bereaved family. He has also directed the PCCF to provide necessary relief and compensation to his family. The PCCF is also being asked to conduct an enquiry into the incident.
