LG reviews progress of important projects

 

          Port Blair, July 31: Hon’ble Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A K Singh, today reviewed the progress of important projects/schemes of all the Departments of the A&N Administration. The Chief Secretary and all senior officers as well as Directors and Deputy Directors were present in the meeting. The meeting, held at the conference hall of the Secretariat lasted for two and half hours. While reviewing the progress, most of Inter-Departmental issues were resolved. Specific directions were also issued by the Lt Governor for expeditious action on all fronts. The Hon’ble Lt Governor directed that he will be monitoring all important projects and unwanted delays on the part of the officers shall have to be accounted for. The next round of reviews on the progress of these projects will be carried out after two months.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prospects of flight services between

Port Blair and Vishakhapatnam brightens

 

          Port Blair, July 31: The Directorate of Civil Aviation, A&N Administration is in the advance stage of dialogue with M/s Alliance Air Ltd. for introducing direct flight services between Port Blair and Vishakhapatnam with 68 seater CRJ type aircraft under Viability Gap Funding model. Having successfully introduced chartered fight services between Port Blair and Car Nicobar, this will be another effort by the A&N Administration to ease-out the difficulties faced by the local population while commuting to their native places, especially the people of Andhra Pradesh and nearby states. This has been one of the focus areas of the Lt Governor. A positive outcome is expected soon on this.
