The Social welfare Dept in A & N Administration is implementing secured welfare schemes in the A & N Islands , targeting the socially and economically disadvantaged sections of the society. These include

      The beneficiaries are provided with monetary benefits on periodic basis and the disbursement  is made through the banks. The department has initiated the computerization of the scheme activities through a webbased software developed by NIC, Port Blair. In the first phase, the Widow Pension scheme has been computerized and made online. Around 4500 beneficiaries data have been digitized under this scheme. A MIS system has been developed to disseminate the beneficiary details in the internet for public access. This brings in transparency in the operation of the scheme.
